De Free Lossless Audio Codec is een compressiestandaard die oorspronkelijk is ontwikkeld door de non-profitstichting Xiph.org en die digitale audiobestanden ondersteunt die akoestisch identiek zijn aan het bronmateriaal. FLAC-gecodeerde bestanden, meestal met de extensie .flac, staan \u200b\u200bbekend om hun volledig open source-structuur, evenals hun kleine bestandsgrootte en snelle decoderingstijden.<\/p>\n

FLAC-bestanden zijn erg populair in de wereld van lossless audio. In digitale audio is een lossless codec een codec die tijdens bestandscompressie geen belangrijke signaalinformatie over de originele analoge muziek verliest.
