Enkele van de meer populaire formaten zijn FLAC, AIFF, WAV en ALAC. Al deze formaten ondersteunen hi-res audio met lossy of lossless compressie.<\/p>\n<p>Apple gebruikt bijvoorbeeld ALAC voor streaming met hoge resolutie op Apple Music.
