A complete digital audio system usually begins<br \/>\nwith a transceiver (microphone) that converts the pressure wave that represents the<br \/>\nSound to an analog electrical signal.<br \/>\nThis analog signal goes through an analog signal processing system, in<br \/>\nwhich can be made limitations on frequency, equalization, amplification and<br \/>\nOther processes such as compassion. Equalization aims<br \/>\ncounteract the particular frequency response of the transceiver used of<br \/>\nso that the analog signal closely resembles the original audio signal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mp4gain.com\/mp4gain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Digital-audio.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-857\" src=\"http:\/\/mp4gain.com\/mp4gain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Digital-audio-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mp4gain.com\/mp4gain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Digital-audio-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mp4gain.com\/mp4gain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Digital-audio-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mp4gain.com\/mp4gain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Digital-audio.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAfter analog processing, the signal is sampled, quantified and encoded. The<br \/>\nsampling takes a discrete number of analog signal values \u200b\u200bper second<br \/>\n(sampling rate) and quantification assigns discrete analog values \u200b\u200bto those<br \/>\nsamples, which means a loss of information (the signal is no longer the same<br \/>\nthan the original). The encoding assigns a sequence of bits to each value<br \/>\ndiscrete analog The length of the bit sequence is a function of the number of<br \/>\nanalog levels used in quantification. The sampling rate and the<br \/>\nnumber of bits per sample are two of the fundamental parameters to choose from<br \/>\nwhen you want to digitally process a certain audio signal.<br \/>\nDigital audio formats try to represent that set of samples<br \/>\ndigital (or a modification) of them efficiently, so that it is optimized<br \/>\ndepending on the application, either the volume of the data to be stored or the<br \/>\nprocessing capacity necessary to obtain the starting samples. In<br \/>\nin this sense there is a very extended audio format that is not considered audio<br \/>\ndigital: the MIDI format. MIDI does not start with digital sound samples, but<br \/>\nstores the musical description of the sound, being a representation of the<br \/>\nscore of them.<br \/>\nThe digital audio system usually ends the reverse process to that described. From<br \/>\nthe stored digital representation is obtained the set of samples that<br \/>\nrepresent. These samples go through a process of digital analog conversion<br \/>\nproviding an analog signal that after processing (filtering,<br \/>\namplification, equalization, etc.) affect the output transceiver (speaker)<br \/>\nwhich converts the electrical signal to a pressure wave that represents the sound.<\/p>\n<h2>Fundamental parameters of digital audio<\/h2>\n<p>The basic parameters to describe the sequence of samples it represents<br \/>\nThe sound are:<br \/>\n\u0192 The number of channels: 1 for mono, 2 for stereo, 4 for sound<br \/>\nquadraphonic, etc.<br \/>\n\u0192 Sampling rate: The number of samples taken per second in each<br \/>\nchannel.<br \/>\n\u0192 Number of bits per sample: Usually 8 or 16 bits.<br \/>\nAs a general rule, multichannel audio samples are usually organized in<br \/>\nframes A plot is a sequence of as many samples as channels,<br \/>\neach one corresponding to a channel. In this sense the number of samples per<br \/>\nsecond matches the number of frames per second.
