This is in contrast to lossy audio formats like AAC, MP3, and WMA, which compress audio using algorithms that discard data. Audio files are made up of sound and silence. Lossless formats are capable of compressing pause to almost zero while retaining all audio data, making it smaller than uncompressed files.<\/p>\n
